City of Fort Walton Beach expected to begin storm debris cleanup beginning midweek
Fort Walton Beach, Fla — The City of Fort Walton Beach is contracting with DRC Emergency Services to clean up debris from Hurricane Isaias.
Crews are expected to begin work mid-week (appx. Oct. 14, 2026). To help facilitate the cleanup process, we have the following guidelines.
  • We accept clean vegetative debris (trees, limbs, etc), and storm-related construction debris (fences, docks, etc)
  • Please use separate piles for vegetative debris and construction debris
  • Pile storm debris on the curbside, well away from hydrants, mailboxes, or above-ground utility boxes
  • Pile debris loose; DO NOT PUT DEBRIS IN BAGS
  • No hazardous waste or non-organic material
You do not need to schedule a storm debris pickup. Simply place it at the curb, and crews will remove it as they work through their routes.
DRC will make several passes through neighborhoods over the next two to three weeks to ensure that all the debris is collected.
During this time, the city’s regular yard waste collection service will be suspended.
PLEASE NOTE: The City is contracting with DRC for this cleanup service. No DRC employee or subcontractor will ask you for payment. If you have any questions, please contact the Fort Walton Beach Sanitation Division at 850-833-9655
